Signature Class of '26: Business & Industry Day Recap

The Leadership Medina County Signature Class of ’26 recently experienced an impactful Business & Industry Day an immersive, behind-the-scenes look at the organizations, people, and innovation driving Medina County forward. 


The day kicked off at Lorain-Medina Rural Electric Cooperative in Spencer, Ohio, where the class was welcomed with breakfast and an engaging facility tour.

A special thank you to Bethany Dentler (Class of ’10) from Medina County Economic Development Corporation for providing a comprehensive overview of Medina County’s economic landscape highlighting growth, opportunity, and the strategic vision shaping the region.


We also heard from CEO Ed VanHoose and Reese Dunton, who delivered an informative presentation on the LMRE’s operations, followed by a behind-the-scenes tour.

The next stop brought the class to Westfield Insurance, where we were warmly welcomed by Julie Wisneski and Scott Ashley.


The group received a tour of the building’s art and architecture, gaining insight into how these thoughtful design decisions enhance the employee experience and strengthen organizational culture. The tour concluded with a generously sponsored lunch in their cafeteria.


After lunch, the class traveled to Knott Brake Company in Lodi, where President Nader Rizk, along with members of his team, personally led a tour of the plant. Participants were given a firsthand look at the precision and craftsmanship behind their products.


The journey continued at Stellar Automotive, where Justin Archer and Nora Howsare provided an engaging overview of their operations. The class explored the day-to-day functions of the facility, gaining insight into Stellar Automotive’s need for employees across all levels of their workforce.


A special thank you to Ann Reusch for sponsoring an afternoon snack—giving the group a chance to recharge, reflect, and prepare for the final stop of the day. The day concluded at Medina Country Club, where General Manager Kirby Manown shared an overview of the club’s operations and future plans. This final stop highlighted the role of hospitality and recreation in enhancing quality of life and supporting community engagement across Medina County.


Business & Industry Day offered the Signature Class of ’26 a unique opportunity to experience the heartbeat of Medina County’s business ecosystem. Each stop reinforced the importance of leadership, collaboration, and innovation across industries. From energy and insurance to manufacturing and hospitality, the day was a powerful reminder of the strength and diversity within our local business community.
