LEAD Institute Class: Five Behaviors of a Team and Intervening Skillfully @ Cornerstone Chapel in Medina

Strong teams aren’t built by accident—they’re developed with intention.
Yesterday’s LEAD class took a deep dive into the 5 Behaviors of a Cohesive Team—trust, conflict, commitment, accountability, and results—and what it really looks like to bring those behaviors to life in day-to-day leadership. We explored these behaviors on an individual level and how they come together to create high-performing teams, creating leaders that can step in with purpose, not perfection.
Another major focus was sharpening our “Your Leadership Edge: through the mindset: Intervene Skillfully."
We talked about how effective leaders don’t sit back and hope challenges resolve themselves—but they also don’t overcorrect or control every outcome. Instead, they step in thoughtfully, read the moment, and take intentional action to move the team forward. Acting experimentally means being willing to test approaches, stay curious, and adapt in real time—especially when the path isn’t clear.
Whether it was navigating tension, encouraging more open dialogue, or holding the team accountable to shared goals, the emphasis was on progress over perfection. Small, well-timed interventions can unlock better conversations, stronger alignment, and ultimately, better results.
Big takeaway: cohesive teams are built when leaders create space for trust and accountability—and have the courage to step in, try something new, and learn along the way.
