Cambron Jones '26 is proud to he recently expanded SayItBuddy, an affordable communication app he developed for individuals who are nonverbal or have difficulty speaking, to the Google Play Store. Previously available only on Apple devices, SayItBuddy is now accessible to Android users as well.
Cambron also introduced new AI-powered features that help make communication more personalized. By creating a profile with information about a user’s favorite foods, activities, family members, and preferences, the AI can suggest relevant phrases to help users communicate more effectively.
Inspired by his nonverbal autistic son, Cambron created SayItBuddy to make communication technology more affordable and accessible to families. The app has received grant funding, won the Technovation Award at Cleveland’s Accelerate competition, and gained support from the Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
These latest developments represent another step toward my goal of helping more individuals find their voice.

Debbie Kiley '07 - "July 1 of 2026, I chose to retire from Job and Family Services after 32+ years and venture into another passion of mine: canine welfare.
I accepted a position at Medina County's Dog Shelter as Director of Shelter Operations effective September 1. One of my many responsibilities was to lead the current shelter into a new generation and to modernize and enhance the facilities operations by building a brand-new shelter! The current shelter was built in 1974 and has certainly met its useful life. I'm happy to announce that plans have been finalized and we're on our way to creating a shelter that meets industry best practices and offers a safe and enriching place for the dogs we have in our care. We've also entered into an amazing partnership with Medina County Community Foundation https://medinaccf.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create/fund?funit_id=1198 to receive public donations and philanthropic contributions to support the shelter's construction. The projected facility opening is in early 2028.
I'm beyond blessed to have this opportunity, both as Director, and a person who loves dogs...and has a very big soft spot for dogs in shelters waiting for their forever homes."
