Leadership Medina County Alumni Partner with Medina County Job and Family Services to Raise Awareness for Foster Care Needs
{Medina County, Ohio, November 9, 2020} This summer, Leadership Medina County (LMC) invited their alumni to participate in a “Community Impact Leadership Series”, a project designed to identify and address a critical need within our community. Project participants chose to promote the foster care needs within Medina County and discussed how to best achieve their goal. At the conclusion of the series, the group formed an executive committee to continue the project by partnering with Medina County Job & Family Services (MCJFS) to raise awareness.
The LMC Foster Care Awareness Executive Committee will volunteer and assist MCJFS with their upcoming holiday toy drive to collect toys for children in foster care. We are accepting new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages. We are also accepting gift cards for our older children and teens in foster care.
Toy collection will take place Saturday, November 21 st from 9:00am to 12:00pm at Medina County Job and Family Services, 232 Northland Drive, Medina. Volunteers from LMC and MCJFS will be available to unload cars for contactless drop-off and to share information about the foster care needs in the community. After the toy drive, volunteers will also assist MCJFS with wrapping the presents for the upcoming holidays.
In addition, Medina County foster families are invited to a special night at the Medina County Fair Holiday Lights Drive Thru, where Santa and his elves will pass out Christmas presents to the families.
The group will continue working with MCJFS to spread information about the foster care needs in the community.
