Project: LEARN Seeks Part-Time Adult Educator
Project: LEARN of Medina County is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of adults through education and English literacy. Our mission is to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in life by providing accessible and quality education programs. We offer a range of programs, including basic literacy, GED preparation, English as a Second Language (ESL), and specialized learning opportunities, to meet the unique needs of each learner. We are committed to fostering a culture of learning that is inclusive, supportive, and empowering.
Role Description
This is a part-time hybrid role for an Adult Basic Education (ABE)/GED instructor at Project: LEARN of Medina County. The ABE/GED instructor will be responsible for facilitating educational instruction and support to adult learners. This includes teaching lessons, designing curriculum, evaluating student progress, and providing guidance and support. The role will be located in Medina, OH, with flexibility for some remote work. Average weekly hours will vary but not more than 10 hours a week.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
- Previous experience teaching or tutoring adult learners, preferably in ABE/GED or literacy programs
- Strong knowledge of ABE/GED curriculum and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in using technology for instruction and communication
