The Leadership Medina County Program
Our program is designed to produce well-informed, motivated leaders who are willing to work together to improve the quality of life in Medina County. A class of 40 adults, representing all parts of the county, is selected. by a committee of alumni and board members to participate in a 9 month long program, our Program Year. They learn in meaningful ways about the challenges and opportunities facing Medina County (during 10 sessions spread over 9 months) and explore and strengthen personal leadership competencies through leadership skill development and a class service project. The Program Year is just the first step. Upon graduation our alumni continue to serve our county through active involvement in civic affairs. Believing that leadership is a life long experience, Leadership Medina County offers our alumni many educational and networking opportunities. |

Criteria for Selection
The applicant must either live or work in Medina County. Criteria is based on selecting individuals who have demonstrated leadership potential in community or professional activities and a desire to learn. Each class represents the diversity within Medina County so career choice, background, past activities, interests, gender and geographic location all factor into the selection. Selection is also based on references provided by the applicant and an essay question which is part of the application.
|
Selection Process
Participants are selected from written applications by a committee of Leadership Medina County alumni and board members to provide a balanced group reflective of the county as a whole. Applications can be requested by individuals or by nominations. Each candidate is rated according to a clear-cut set of criteria and approximately 40 individuals are selected each year. Due to the limited class size some applicants are asked to reapply the following year.
