    As he spoke at the Class of 2010 Graduation, May 26, Keith noted that there are benefits to the community, the employer and the individual that come from completing the Leadership Medina County program.  Many LMC alumni shared those with him through a survey he conducted earlier in the month.  Beginning with benefits to the community, Keith read this comment.  “The LMC experience helped me to look beyond my personal and professional perspective and see a bigger picture.  I used to think of myself as a member of a smaller community but now feel connected to the county just as strongly.”    

     Another alum listed benefits that a business gains. “The employer gains an employee with enhanced team building skills for organizational effectiveness who is well connected in the county and can help establish the company as a good corporate citizen.”   For personal benefits, Keith said that you couldn’t beat the enthusiasm of this individual who said,  “Personally I cannot believe the impact leadership has had on my life! I have been ever so fortunate to claim a multitude of friends and acquaintances though my various activities in the county…..Our county has to have some of the most friendly, down to earth people found anywhere on this planet!  I was also able to learn that volunteering gives back to the individual in satisfaction 10 times the effort expended.  It is truly an addictive process!!!”

     Keith noted that for twenty years, Leadership Medina County has been part of the history of Medina County.  And the history of Medina County was formed through “men and women of deeds, not words.”  He noted that our future is beyond our vision but the promise of a better future resides with leaders who strive for vibrant schools, create meaningful, sustaining jobs and provide a high quality of life for all of us in Medina County.  Keith challenged the Class of 2010 to be those leaders.
