1990 Leadership Medina
Darrell Waite, Waite & Son Funeral Chapels, ArKay Floral and Gifts, is featured in the December issue of Teleflora magazine as Today’s Entrepreneur. He successfully reopened one of Brunswick’s oldest flower shops.
1993 The Best
Barbara Dzur, Gerspacher Real Estate Group, has been appointed by the Medina County Commissioners to the Medina County Workforce Development Committee.
1994 The Finest
Sandy Calvert, HANDS Foundation, is the Medina County Chair for Rob Portman’s campaign for US Senate and the Medina County Chair for Jon Husted’s campaign for Secretary of State. Sandy is up for reelection as GOP State Central Committee person for the 22nd Senate District.
Marcus Neiman, Fine Arts Tour and Festivals, has been awarded the 2010 "Distinguished Service Award" by the Ohio Music Education Association.
1996 The Brightest
Lynda Bowers, Lafayette Township Trustee, received the "Local Elected Officials Recognition Award" given by the Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce for her work in advancing economic development. Lynda was instrumental in the development of Innovation Park and the Medina County University Center, University of Akron. She is the first township trustee to win this award.

Denise Pozderac, Transitional Living Centers, Inc., our condolences on the recent loss of her mother.
2002 The Enlightened
Brian Harr, Western Reserve Bank, has been elected to the Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
2003 The Futurist
Joe Destro, Brunswick Tax Service, was recently elected President of the Ohio Chapter of the National Association of Tax Professionals. He is co-owner of Brunswick Tax Service and the H & R Block offices in Brunswick and Medina.
Linda Schmidt, Medina Hospital, is retiring after 42 years of service.
Valerie Rapp, Homestead Insurance, was recently elected Treasurer of the Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce.
Thomas Whelan, Lodi Community Hospital, has won the Community Person of the Year awarded by the Lodi Chamber of Commerce. He will be honored at the Lodi Chamber Annual Meeting, January 21.
2004 The Exceptional
Keith Hughes, Dyer, Hughes, Roche & Wilson, Inc. CPA, has been elected to the Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
2005 The Ultimate
Christopher, Kalina, Medina County Career Center, was appointed to a three year term as a Medina County representative on the WVIZ/PBS and 90.3 WCPN Ideastream Advisory Board.
Chad Wilson, Chad Allan Consulting, LLC, has been elected to the Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
Dianne DePasquale-Hagerty, Medina Creative Housing, has announced that their housing project, Medina Creative Living, was chosen as a model HUD 811 project to be featured nationally in HUD’s 50th Anniversary Celebration and Documentary.
2006 The Enterprising
Roberta Gifford, Western Reserve Masonic Community, will chair the YWCA’s 2010 Spring Leadership Ball.
Stacy Bonitz, Trinity Rose Foundation, reports that the Trinity Rose Golf outing raised over $20,000 for childhood blindness. $6,000 was given as medical research grant, and $11,000 was awarded to three families in need.
Johanna Perrino, Wadsworth Cable TV has been elected to the board of the Wadsworth Chamber of Commerce
Jerry Klue, Medina City Police Department, has received an excellence in teaching award from the Ohio School Resource Officers Association. Officer Klue is the School Resource Officer and D.A.R.E. Officer for the Medina City School District.

2007 The Inspired
Michael Baach, The Philpott Rubber Company, has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directory of the Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce. In September Mike was named President of The Philpott Rubber Company and in December Philpott recently celebrated 120 years of business. Lots going on, Congrats!
2009 A Class Act
Louise Brown, Medina County Job and Family Services, has completed training through Project LEARN to be a tutor and is awaiting her first “student”.
Beth Winter, Summa Wadsworth Rittman Hospital, has been elected President of the Wadsworth Chamber of Commerce.
2010 To Be Determined
Michael Kovack, Medina County Treasurer, has been named as one of the 2009 Inductees into the Wadsworth Senior Advocate Hall of Fame by the Wadsworth Older Adults Foundation.
Andrew Waite, Waite & Son Funeral Homes, has been appointed to serve on the board for the Young Professionals Association of Medina.
Blue Coats of Medina County
Of the recently elected Board of The Blue Coats of Medina County, seven out of thirteen trustees are LMC alumni. They include: Ed McKeon ’00, Western Reserve Bank; Mike Carlson ’02, Carlson Funeral Homes; Barbara Mack ’00, Mack Industries; Diana Riley ’05, PRM International Inc.; Darrell Waite ’90, Waite & Son Funeral Homes; Jim Boyes ’94, Medina County University Center, and Ron Paydo ’00 FirstMerit Bank.
