Celebrations In Leadership
One of the annual rites of spring is the Young Women’s Leadership Ball, which honors chosen high school seniors who are in the upper third of their class, participate in a variety of extracurricular activities, and volunteer in their community.
This year thirty young women were selected from across the county to represent the best in leadership potential. Six of this year’s debutantes are Jr. Leadership graduates. Representing our program are ’08 graduate Renee Pawalec and ’09 grads Lenae Horvath, Kelley Moeller, Catherine Orban, Emily Sheerer and Mary Anne Sours.

On April 30, 2010 Jr. Leadership graduates Brandon Barski, Mike Dominguez, Kelley Moeller and Emily Sheerer were honored by the Share Cluster at their annual breakfast for their leadership at the Medina County Middle School Leadership Academy. The Share Cluster conducts various prevention-focused training programs throughout the year targeting Medina County youth, parents and professionals. |
In past years this breakfast has specifically recognized those outstanding seniors who have been involved in drug and alcohol prevention activities. The additional recognition which our students received charts new waters, and sets a higher standard of community participation for future graduates.
But let’s not end the celebration so quickly! These are but two examples of the steps our graduates are taking in their leadership journey. By the look of things, we can keep this party going all summer! Keep your reading glasses next to your lemonade…
