Trustee and Alum Becomes Buckeye Superintendent

Brian will now join the ranks of superintendents: Dale Fortner ’01, Wadsworth City Schools, Jack Higgins ’04, Chippewa Local Schools, Will Koran ’95, Medina County Schools Educational Service Center, Michael Mayell ’07, Brunswick City Schools, Michael Tefs ’06, Wooster City Schools and Jeff Weaver ’06, formerly Medina City Schools (now Upper Arlington City Schools). Retired superintendents include: Jim Hayas ‘96, Brunswick City Schools, Tom Horwedel ’92, Medina County Career Center, Charlie Irish ’93, Medina City Schools, Mike Carlson '02, Highland Local Schools and Dr. Mari Halkovich '08, Cloverleaf Local Schools.

Before taking this position as superintendent, Brian served as Assistant Superintendent of Wadsworth Schools but he was no stranger to Buckeye. While in college he did a student teaching rotation there. After graduation Brian went to Wadsworth where he was a physical education teacher, became the middle school principal and then moved to high school principal.
Brian is a graduate of the Class of 2005 and serves on the LMC Board of Trustees. For the last several years, he has been part of the Education Day Planning Committee for new classes.
