Retiring Trustees Honored

     Robert Arnold, Class of 2001, Arnold Architectural Strategies, LLC, has been the chair of the Alumni Education Committee since stepping onto the board.  He and his committees have organized many learning opportunities ranging from a grant writing session to an interactive discussion with the Medina County Port Authority. 

 

 
     Robert Drum, Class of 1999,  Steinke Vertal Langdon & Drum, has focused on insuring a high quality class for each year.  As committee member and then chair of the Recruitment, Selection Committee he has read, debated, voted and selected outstanding LMC classes.  He’s recently helped to add an interview step to the selection process.

     Jerome Fiume, Class of 2002 NAI Cummins Real Estate, was a key player in his class project, bringing The Disney Institute to Medina County.  Jerry took lessons learned from that and helped to initiate our “Excellence In Leadership Awards” Event honoring outstanding leadership.  This is held every other year, the next one scheduled for 2012.
 
     Thomas Horwedel, Class of 1992, Mayor, Westfield Center. Tom is the retired superintendent of the Medina County Career Center and helped the fledging LMC program in the early years.  When the JrLMC program was developed in 2004, Tom provided support for that as well.  JrLMC is open high school sophomore and junior students in the county.
 
     Brad Root, Class of 1998, President, The A.I. Root Company dba Root Candles.  The history of AI Root and Root Candles has become a highlight of History Day due to Brad’s involvement.    He soon took the larger assignment of managing the development of each of the program days for the entire class year and reporting the evaluations to the board.
     
     Debra Nelsen, Medina City Schools. Deb brought a fresh perspective to the board as a non LMC graduate.  Her Human Resources background was a real plus for LMC has she helped to structure job descriptions, evaluations and policies for Leadership Medina County.  She's also worked on a number of LMC Events.
