New Chapter for Joyce Giles

At Medina General Hospital Joyce served as a licensed Social Worker for eighteen years and then Director of the Department of Social Services since 2001. All along she has been an advocate for those in need, ensuring that services were available through a team approach to solving problems.
|
Joyce was the recipient of the LMC Excellence in Health Care Leadership Award at the 2006 Excellence in Leadership Awards Event. Believing that each of our lives can have an impact on someone else’s life, Joyce is always ready to get involved in the health care issues facing the residents of Medina County.
As a volunteer in the community she fostered collaboration to maximize benefits for the under-served segments of the county. For example Joyce was instrumental in the formation of the Volunteer Guardianship Program for older adults established with Judge Lohn's court, and currently is a member of the HANDS Foundation Board which advocates on behalf of senior citizens. Senior citizens will now be her full time passion.
