About 125 family members, LMC graduates, community and state leaders were part of the celebration.  State Representatives Bill Batchelder and Dave Hall delivered commendations to each young leader, as did county commissioner Steve Hambley.  Class memory books, a photo CD and JrLMC commendations were presented by Lucy Sondles and Valerie Rapp.  The Cleveland State University Nance College of Business Administration generously underwrote hoodies for each graduate.

The heart of the celebration came when our emerging leaders shared their personal reflections on what this program offered them and how they in turn can offer back to their schools, communities and beyond.  A dozen class members spoke of people, places and programs who helped them not only better understand their county but also better understand themselves.

Medina County Career Center student Zaklina Stojkoski detailed the selection and implementation process for the class project, benefitting Let’s Make A Difference, a community program that provides opportunities for disadvantaged youth in the Medina area.  She then introduced the roots and wings of the program, Michelle Powell, who spoke passionately about her history of service, her hopes for the future, and her gratitude for the support of this year’s Jr. Leadership graduates.

LMC graduate Patty Robinson of Robinson EcoWater Systems again underwrote the class project with a $250 donation.  Class efforts yielded $815 in donations, four boxes of art supplies and snack items, and a computer to be used for tutoring purposes.

This year’s class members spoke of how they recognized in Ms. Powell and other program day participants a passion for serving in whatever capacity they choose.  This passion is what we all hope to find in living out our days, and certainly what we hope to make real for our emerging leaders.  View pictures.

Now we move on.  Our program prepares to open up opportunities to a new group of passionate leaders, and our graduates expand their perimeter of possibility.  Yes, together we will all make a difference.
