Here is the 2010 March Edition of the E-Leading Edge.   LMC is "going green" and staying in contact with you more frequently than our quarterly newsletter of the past.  If you missed last month's edition, February is posted on the Home Page of our LMC web site.  Stay in touch and join us at our upcoming events.  And if you have events in your life or activities to share, please contact  Lucy Sondles at exec@leadershipmedinacounty.org or Kathy DeLoss at admin@leadershipmedinacounty.org   No longer is there a 3 month delay in bringing you the news!

LMC Cl 2010 Listed in Weatherhead 100
  Last month we recognized  2 LMC Alumni  (Mark Dorman, '01 and Greg Vincent, '96) whose companies made the Weatherhead 100 list.  This month we are pleased to announce that current class member, John Bechke and his company CQ Printing, were named by Weatherhead as an Upstart Winner.

Excellence in Leadership Awards Nomination
Leadership Medina County is currently accepting nominations for its fourth awards event, "Celebrating Excellence in Leadership."  This event will recognize five individuals who have exhibited extraordinary leadership in five fields:  Excellence in Business Leadership, Excellence in Education Leadership, Excellence in Health Care Leadership, Excellence in Public Service Leadership, and Excellence in Medina County Leadership.  Please complete the Nomination Form and return it to the office by May 14.
 
Education Day for the Class of 2010
Leadership competencies of compassion, building effective teams, and managing diversity were demonstrated throughout Education Day.   Thanks goes to the planning team chaired by Will Koran, '95 and the school locations and staff visited by the LMC Class of 2010 who learned about education Medina County style. Servant Leader, the Theme at the Awareness Breakfast
   Robert P. Stall, ’10, President of Medina Hospital, a Cleveland Clinic hospital, spoke about "the Servant Leader" at this year’s Awareness Breakfast. Rob, a member of the LMC Class of 2010 saw many of his classmates in attendance along with 200 alumni and guests.  Over 70 application packets were taken by those interested in applying to the LMC class next year.  Kudos to Chair Paul Kipfstuhl '05 and his committee.  More.
 
Midpoint Campus is on the Calendar for April 28

 Midpoint Campus Center, 50 Pearl Road in Brunswick will host our Spring Breakfast Out & About on April 28 from 7:45 to 9:00 a.m.  Come join other alumni for a continental breakfast and tour with Lena Knight '97.   Learn about this wonderful new facility which is opening their doors to LMC.  "A quality partnership, close to home." More

 

Celebrate With Purpose on April 15!

This year’s Jr. Leadership class will complete their year with an evening of celebration!  Graduation festivities will take place Thursday, April 15, 6-8pm at Weymouth Country Club.   Students are creating a photo montage of their class days, and several representatives will share their thoughts on their program experiences.  More

 

 Jr LMC Decide to Support Local Leader

How did you learn about LMC?  Chances are that a LMC alum saw your potential and encouraged you to apply.  Now it's your turn. LMC is looking for prospective candidates with leadership ability and a commitment to community.

Class Notable
Karen E. Widder, ’03, Esq.  has been selected by the board as the new affiliate director of the Medina County Community Fund, part of the Akron Community Foundation.  She has more than seven years of nonprofit fund raising, organizational management and donor relations experience.  Most recently, she served as the associate director of development for the Battered Women’s Shelter and Rape Crisis Center.
