Marcus Neiman, Medina County Schools Educational Services Center, has been appointed Interim Assistant Director of Bands at the  Hugh A. Glauser School of Music, Kent State University.  He will assume the leadership and conducting duties for the Kent Concert Band and will assist with the band department’s administration, recruiting projects and outreach programs.

 

Paul Koontz, 484 Consulting, LLC, has been named Chair of the Industrial Arts Technology Education Association of the California University at Pennsylvania.  He is also serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Whitemer Group.

 

’95  The Greatest

Debra Lynn-Schmitz, Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce, was recently elected to the American Red Cross of Medina County Board of Directors.

Pat Stropko-O'Leary, Hospice of Medina County, has been named a Women of Note by Crain's Cleveland Business.  She will be honored at a luncheon July 22 at Landerhaven in Cleveland.

 

’98  The Favorite

Gail Carmon, Alternative Paths, Inc., was recently re-elected as Vice President of Governance/Strategic Planning of the American Red Cross of Medina County Board of Directors.

 

’00  The Spirited

Dottie Nemec, Mehco Custom Printing, was recently elected as Chair of the American Red Cross of Medina County Board of Directors.

 

Laurie Price, HHL Group, Inc., was recently elected Treasurer of the American Red Cross of Medina County Board of Directors.

 

’07  The Inspired

Frank Griffith, Griffith Holdings, Inc., his company, OnShift, which he co-founded last year won the Best Emerging Company Award from NEOSA (Northeast Ohio Software Association) in May.  NEOSA is the COSE (Council of Smaller Enterprises) Technology Network. OnShift offers on-line scheduling and employee communications solutions specifically designed for individual and multi-site long term care organizations.

 

Sharon McNeil, Williams Investment Services, LLC, Sharon’s son Adam has been deployed to Afghanistan after training with the Hungarian army for six months.  The family would appreciate your thoughts and prayers for Adam’s safe return in December.

Quinten Tifft, Clinical Research Management, Inc., announced that CRM was recently named one of the 2010 Crain's Leading EDGE Award Winners at a reception and dinner on May 19.  The Entrepreneurs EDGE and Crain's Cleveland Business recognized 86 of Northeast Ohio's middle-market companies. 

 

’08  That Class

Dr. Mari Halkovich, Vintage Vanities Antiques in conjunction with the Medina County Historical Society will present a program called “Glitz and Glamour" in the White House.”  It will feature history, jewelry and fashion of the Ohio Presidential First Ladies.  The program will take place at Weymouth Country Club Grand Ballroom on Sunday, August 15, 2010, doors open at 12:30 p.m., Lunch at 1:00 p.m. followed by the program.  Prepaid reservations are required.  For more information email:  mdavanzo@zoominternet.net

 

Joe McNeill, FirstMerit Bank, was recently elected as Vice President of Financial Development of the American Red Cross of Medina County Board of Directors.

Robin Hammond, The Hoffman Group, was recently elected to the American Red Cross of Medina County Board of Directors.

 

Ann Reusch, Western Reserve Bank, was recently re-elected as Secretary of the American Red Cross of Medina County Board of Directors

 

’10  The Social Class

Mike Kovack, Medina County Auditor, was recognized by the County Auditors Association of Ohio (CAAO) at their summer conference with their Distinguished County Auditor Award.  Mike has been Medina County Auditor since 1993 and this is the second time he has received the award.
