The Class of 2011 is nearing its midway mark. What has come of our intentions?
|
- Our emerging leaders have been challenged by Jim Wallace and the Medina County Challenge Course staff to work together, take risks and think outside the box to achieve more than they can imagine. They have learned from RPM’s Diana Riley and Randy McShepard to value 168 – the number of hours we are each given each week to wisely use the gifts we’ve each been given.
- Cornerstone Wellness counselor Julie Jones brought to life the absolute necessity of listening with intention if we truly want to empower others and ourselves.
- Medina mayor Dennis Hanwell created a “light bulb moment” when he shared that, in choosing his path, which includes great leadership challenges, he placed his concern for others over personal reward and accomplishment.
- Community activist Michelle Powell poured out her boundless energy as she does every day in her quest to make a difference in the lives of children who most need a guiding hand.
- Jeff Holland passed on his passion for protecting and preserving our natural environment, a priority that he lives out both in and beyond his professional life.
- Class members walked into the vision of Medina County Parks director Tom James as they strolled through Wolf Creek Environmental Center and heard how this vision has led to the expansion of our county park system to over 5,000 acres, with goals that will positively impact the quality of life of every county resident.

Impressions in a nutshell? The opportunity to see the face of cooperation, communication, accepting challenges, living each moment with selfless intention, using a broad lens to see your world, making your vision a reality, and giving all you have been given.

I’d say that the time of both class members and presenters has been quite well-invested, and that we’re off to a pretty good start! Sincere thanks to all for your intentional living.
