On December 3, four alumni of the JrLMC Class of 2009 spent a day mentoring middle school student leaders from across the county. These students had been chosen to participate in the Middle School Leadership Academy organized every year by the Medina County Share Cluster. The Share Cluster conducts various prevention-focused training programs throughout the year targeting Medina County youth, parents and professionals. |
| Thanks to a referral from Medina County Probate and Juvenile Court Administrator Sharon Danko (LMC Class of ‘05) our Jr. Leadership alumni were able to be the first high school students to help in the planning and carrying out of this leadership development day. They met with Share Cluster representatives prior to the event, then served as group moderators and lunchtime mentors on the day of the academy. |
| This initial venture proved to be a positive experience for all involved. It is hoped that this will be the start of an ever-growing relationship between the developing leaders of all ages in Medina County. |
|
When Jr. Leadership was piloted in 2003, it was envisioned that the program would be directed toward high school sophomores and juniors so that they would then be able to share their newfound skills with their home and school communities. We congratulate ‘09 graduates Brandon Barski, Mike Dominguez, Kelley Moeller and Emily Sheerer for showing us how a vision becomes reality.
