A third-generation resident of Medina County, Chuck acquired the job of his dreams with NASA Glenn Research Center in 1966, retiring as CFO after 31 years. While his service on four local school boards between 1982 and 1996 was unprecedented, he truly furthered educational excellence in Medina County while serving as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives from 1999 until 2006. Chuck advocated the need for improved access to technology for students and educators, and he secured approval for the construction of the Medina County University Center. He sponsored legislation that has provided millions of dollars of state funding for MCUC, ensuring the success of an advanced learning environment, vital to future generations of local families and businesses.

As a state Representative, Chuck worked to expand job opportunities, collaborating with directors of area Chambers of Commerce and the Medina County Economic Development Corporation to bring valuable resources to the county. He sponsored the Third-Frontier initiative, allowing the state to invest millions to fund start-up companies. He introduced legislation providing tax incentives for the revitalization of historic buildings in cities across Ohio, boosting the economic redevelopment of historic districts like the Medina Public Square. Chuck also promoted improvements to the county’s transportation infrastructure, making it easier and safer for residents to get to work. |
