The first in his family to graduate from college and law school, Jim joined his father’s residential real estate business in 1971.  Under Jim’s guidance, Gerspacher Realty Company became the largest and most professional real estate agency in the county and one of the top brokerages in Ohio.  Determining that there was a need for a commercial and industrial broker in Medina, he founded the Gerspacher Real Estate Group in 1993.  Now with a third generation of Gerspachers at the helm, the company remains at the forefront of Medina’s commercial real estate market today.

Jim is adept at bringing the right people together to create positive change.  He has held leadership roles in countless civic, service, and non-profit organizations in our community, some of which include the Medina Area Chamber of Commerce, the Medina County Economic Development Corporation, the Medina County Port Authority, the Transportation Improvement District, the Farmland Preservation and Balanced Growth Initiatives, and the Western Reserve Land Conservancy.  He has also been active in United Way, Medina Sunrise Rotary, and Leadership Medina County.  Jim has contributed to better city and county-wide planning; the conservation of thousands of acres of undeveloped land; critical changes in our county’s transportation infrastructure; the creation of the “211” information and referral system; and the establishment of a fiber optic network that will provide better and less expensive broad band, helping our county retain and attract businesses.

Through his superior leadership, Jim Gerspacher has touched the heart of a growing rural county-planning, conservation, transportation, communication, and economic development-and his positive impact on the quality of life in Medina County will be felt for generations to come.
