     With a vast knowledge of business and a love for Medina, Gary came to Medina Community Hospital in 1988, the ideal leader to steer the local hospital into the future.  Gary served as President and CEO of Medina General Hospital for sixteen years, retiring in 2009 knowing that his leadership produced years of growth and progress.  He oversaw numerous hospital construction projects, including the South Medical Building, ICU, expansions of the maternity floor and the ER, creation of the Pediatric ER, expansion of the Brunswick Immediate Care Center, new hospital laboratories, new outpatient facilities and surgical suites, as well as a medical library, conference center and sleep clinic.  His many years of diligent service culminated in the hospital’s partnership with the Cleveland Clinic, an affiliation that will ensure excellent health care for Medina County well into the future.

    
     Gary recruited numerous physicians to Medina and was proud of a caring staff that always put people first.  He supported the funding of educational programs, reaching out to local schools, businesses, and organizations with topics such as CPR, heart health, smoking cessation, diabetes education, babysitting, and weight loss.  On a personal level, Gary has also given much to the community through his years of leadership in organizations such as the Medina County Economic Development Corporation, United Way, the Medina Area Chamber of Commerce, and Leadership Medina County, in addition to serving on the boards of FirstMerit Bank, Westfield Companies, and Westfield Bank.
