I know the program has changed over the years, but looking around at a group of mostly strangers starting on an almost nine month adventure together hasn’t changed. During my first day at my class retreat, I remember being overwhelmed by learning names, meeting new people, and wondering what the year together would hold. Now I fondly remember that the year was filled with ‘aha’ moments learning about the county, making new friends that I still ‘hang out’ with, learning I’m a cross between a dolphin and a fox, but mostly a fox (for those of you familiar with the dolphin/fox/beaver/owl leadership monikers), and finishing the year inspired to give back to our county through charity board service. I hope you have some of the same fond memories of Day One with LMC.

Fall is also the time LMC looks to its alumni to renew their membership in the organization through your annual dues. As you think back to your LMC Program Class Year, as well as the (hopefully) many other LMC events you’ve attended, please remember to submit your dues when your invoice arrives in the mail shortly. LMC relies on your donations, in addition to the class tuition, to provide its programming so your consideration in “rounding up” your dues would be greatly appreciated.

The LMC Board is working hard to look for additional sources of funding to continue providing a quality Class Program Year and to add new programming of interest to our alumni. Your show of support through your contributions will help ‘jumpstart’ the new endeavors currently being explored. Feel free to contact me at csteeb@aol.com with any programming suggestions as well – we’ve been relying on prior alumni surveys, but we want to be responsive to alumni!
